Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter (book vs. movie) 10/8

Last night I went and saw Aberaham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. Now I know what you are thinking... the movie sounds ridiculous. Sure, I suppose it does. But if you have read the book, you will understand that this is no joke. The book is a well written story, 'based on' (in the story anyway) Abraham Lincoln's secret journals.

So what President hasn't had some kind of secret? They all have I am sure. And honestly I find it much more likely that Abe was a Vampire Hunter than there having been weapons of mass destruction when none were ever to be found at all. As for aliens and Area 51, Roswell, and all of that, that was a poor kept secret, haha.

So let me get down to business. The book gets a 10/10 from me, and the movie an 8/10. Why? Well the movie is loosely based on the book. And by that I mean in title and characters names only. They couldn't have been more different. And while the book was great, it would not have made a good movie. They Hollywood-ized it for the movie, adding much more action, effects, and cool impossible scenes for our good old Honest Abe to fight through.

Also the endings are 100% different. So sorry if that is a spoiler, but surely you would have guessed that. I wont say WHAT the endings were. But I enjoyed both just as much. I mean if you don't know the story of what happens top Abraham Lincoln by now from history books/class, etc... get out of this country you damn vampire! Haha.

So yes. I highly recommend you see the movie and read the book. Probably in that order. Otherwise you will judge the movie by the book and it is not the best thing to do with any book to move adaptation.

Enjoy a dose of the true history of the United States.
