Resident Evil: Retribution 10/10

SO today I saw Resident Evil: Retribution...

The main reason I think people may not have looked favorably upon, was that they went into the first Resident Evil, not knowing what to expect. They expected horror... and sure they got some of it, but then it had a lot of action as well.

Apocalypse fans thought they were getting their game to movie adaptation. Well once again, they were wrong--partially. I mean we did see big old badass Nemesis... who wasn’t such a bad ass with the way he was killed.

Extinction, people had NO idea what to expect and well this delivered the blandest of all the RE movies. Deserts, destroyed world, etc.

Afterlife, people FINALLY got an idea of what to expect out of these movies, and it went well. The world eing destroyed was already a given, and Alice looking for the survivors in Arcade made sense. And then all the crazy things like the axe-men, the las plagas like zombies, etc.

Now, with the 5th movie, Resident Evil: Retribution... well again, we kinda knew Paul W.S. Anderson’s writing/directing style, so we had a general idea, although the trailers left us having no idea what the heck was going on.

Now having seen it, I understand the movie and what it tried to, and actually did. I wouldn’t have named it Retribution. That title should have been for part 6.

The movie started off in an awesome way, the music was catchy,, and of course we loved to see what happened just after the last movie finished. Some characters, as in these movies, were never mentioned again, and others, well we finally got the fan service of Barry Burton, Ada Wong, and Leos S. Kennedy. Which they played their parts beautifully.

I don’t see much wrong with this movie at all. Action, scenes that make you jump, fan service, and a lot of references and tie-ins to the old movies. Things were never quite too predictable, but then again I like to shut my mind off and go into movie viewer mode. I would advise seeing it in IMAX 3D. It may be pricey, but its pretty darn amazing.

Resident Evil Retribution 10/10!!!
Can’t wait for move #6. We also will be getting the game Resident Evil 6, the Deck Building Game expansion Mercenaries, and the CGI movie ‘Damnation’ soon.

This is the year of Evil... Resident Evil.
